Lungs consist of small air sacs called alveoli. During breathing, the inhaled air moves to these air sacs but sometimes due to the inflammation of alveoli and the surrounding tissues, the sacs are already filled with pus or fluids which makes breathing difficult. This condition is known as pneumonia.
